Alderbrook Resort and Spa

The 9 Best Washington State Spas of 2023 (2)

(Video) Helped my son to jump from 5 m diving board ❤️ (I’m pro coach, don’t repeat) #swimming #watermagic

The Alderbrook Resort and Spa has long had a reputation as the premier spa on the Olympic Peninsula, located across Puget Sound west of Seattle. Guests arriving from Seattle can either take a ferry or circumnavigate Øresund. The site sits on the scenic banks of Hood Canal, a glacially carved fjord more than 60 miles long, and is completely overshadowed by giant alder trees. The special massages always include aromatherapy with many scents of the local forest fauna. The entire spa menu celebrates nature, from the volcanic pumice scrub to the seaweed body wrap. At the end of a long day at the spa, guests can relax poolside - the resort features a glass-enclosed greenhouse swimming pool overlooking the rocky beach and, on a clear day, the Olympic Mountains.

Olympus Spa

The 9 Best Washington State Spas of 2023 (3)

At first glance, the Olympus Spa in Lynnwood (just outside of Seattle) isn't what most people expect. Located in a nondescript suburban center, the spa is certainly no cause for alarm from the outside. But once inside, it's a lively Korean-style escape for women only. Guest rules are strict and non-negotiable. Bathrobes must be worn in the warm infrared rooms lined with Himalayan salt or jade. However, all clothing and underwear must be removed upon entering the pool area. In other areas, a cap and gown is worn. Ladies can get a massage, a traditional Korean scrub, or choose from a long list of other services. Treatments here include mung beans, red ginseng, and yams — products not typically found in an American spa. After a relaxing day, guests can continue to nourish their bodies with a healthy meal. In the restaurant, specialties from the East Asian country such as the rice dish are servedbibimbap, flavorful tacos and green tea smoothies.

Salish Lodge und Spa

The 9 Best Washington State Spas of 2023 (4)

Just 30 minutes from Seattle, The Salish Lodge and Spa is recognized as the area's premier luxury resort and has won numerous awards and honors, including Condé Nast Traveler's Top 50 Hotel Spas in the United States and the Reader's Choice Awards in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021.Perched above the breathtaking Snoqualmie Falls at the foot of the Cascade Mountains, it is famous for appearing in the David Lynch TV series Twin Peaks. The Asian-inspired spa is reminiscent of a Japanese bathhouse with natural stone hydrotherapy pools. Treatments include honey (from on-site beehives) and ingredients from a variety of natural environments, including the Arctic. Couples can treat themselves to a couples massage by the fireplace. The resort has an age restriction of 18 years for massages and baths. Guests 16 years and older can receive facials.

Salt room and spa

The 9 Best Washington State Spas of 2023 (5)

Salt therapy – also known as halotherapy – is known to be not only relaxing, but also physically beneficial for people with asthma and allergies. The popular treatment is available in Bellevue, Washington. Guests can relax with 45-minute sessions on the walls of the lighted room made of pink Himalayan salt bricks. Massages (alone or in pairs), Reiki sessions, yoga and meditation, color therapy, music therapy, and non-gravity loungers are also available.

Glade Spring Spa

The 9 Best Washington State Spas of 2023 (6)

For those seeking an idyllic nature retreat in the mountains east of the Cascades, the Glade Spring Spa relaxation rooms at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum offer mineral pools, log cabin saunas, fire pits and a freshwater stream. Since this is a luxury resort that even includes a golf course, non-resort guests can still make appointments at the spa. Visitors enjoy a Vichy shower, a variety of outdoor mineral baths, pampering scalp treatments, and many therapies are accompanied with a complimentary glass of wine. The Glade Spring Spa offers wraps, scrubs, massages, detox therapies, specialty foot treatments -- you name it, and the company has probably already thought of that.

Semiahmoo Resort

The 9 Best Washington State Spas of 2023 (7)

On the north shore of Puget Sound, a few hours north of Seattle in Blaine, Semiahmoo is known for having one of Washington's premier golf courses: Semiahmoo Golf and Country Club. However, many come just for the spa, which uses luxurious Éminence skincare products. The spa offers a wide range of body treatments including an emollient sundae wrap, vital body scrub, butter rum sugar scrub, honey lavender salt scrub and honey hand and foot revitalization regimen. Another notable possibility is the message of the heated Himalayan salt rock.

The Woodmark Hotel

The 9 Best Washington State Spas of 2023 (8)

The Woodmark Hotel and Still Spa has a very yacht club vibe. It is located on the shores of Lake Washington, just 15 minutes east of Seattle. Located on the Carillon Point Harbor, the hotel also offers views of the Seattle skyline and the Olympic Mountains. One package is the Warm & Wellness option, which includes a 75-minute stone fruit massage, a 60-minute organic facial, and a signature manicure and pedicure. The ultimate spa day includes a signature 60-minute massage, a Himalayan salt body treatment, an intensely refreshing facial, and a signature manicure and pedicure.

Willows Lodge

Willows Lodge on the Sammamish River is located in the wine country of Woodinville, just 30 minutes from Seattle and within walking distance to Chateau Ste. Michelle and Columbia Winery. The spa offers massages, body wraps, and a range of facial treatments, including oxygen, microneedling, and red carpet facials. Couples massages are also offered.

Rosario Resort and Spa

The 9 Best Washington State Spas of 2023 (10)

Location, location, location -- to get to the Rosario Resort and Spa, guests must travel by car ferry, regular boat, or plane to the beautiful San Juan Islands a few hours north of Seattle. On the property is a 1909 mansion that was once the home of shipbuilding magnate Robert Moran but has now become a relaxing retreat for townspeople. Visit the adults-only indoor therapeutic pool before indulging in a massage or other spa therapy. While treatments tend to be more traditional (think body scrubs or facials), the stunningly tranquil location more than makes up for the smaller spa menu.
